LEIRE RINCÓN

Postdoctoral researcher at the University of Barcelona and the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI). She holds a predoctoral FPI (Research Personnel Training) fellowship from the Ministry of Competitiveness and Economy, under the project “Transparency Policy and the Right to Information in a Multilevel Governance Context” (CSO-2015-69878-P). Her dissertation analyzes basic income policy from various perspectives: citizens’ preferences, the development of the debate, and basic income policy in comparative perspective, as well as the framing of this policy. Regarding the latter, she is preparing a book chapter for the upcoming International Handbook of Basic Income (Palgrave).

She is interested in experimental methods and text analysis, areas in which she has received training at the University of Oxford and the London School of Economics (LSE). Within the Q-Dem team, she has participated in various projects, such as the Interest Groups and Transparency Policy survey, developing numerous databases. Before joining the Q-Dem team, she graduated in Politics and International Relations from the University of Bath (UK), and completed a Master’s in Political Analysis at the University of Barcelona, receiving an award for the best academic record. She also has professional experience outside the academic sector, including work in the third sector and in diplomatic organizations such as the Embassy of Saudi Arabi
